Feeling pretty good, the album is close to being completed...
this one has been under wraps quite alot, but I love the music on it so much, and its really good quality music, i want the goodness to hit you all at once lol.

The Day has come.
iT is 12:27 AM.
I have a job interview tomorro at noon :-)
And i also uploaded my first "real" album tonight.
Thanks To God, for the gift of music.
To my wonderful parents, for putting up with all of my mess lol.
To SoulSound, I love yall, we going to the top no matter what.
To Mr. Wilson, the greatest band director, gave me a shot, sink or swim ;-)
To Mr. Cason, always saying "Get it done Doc!" -I got it done.-

To Amber Dubose, one of the first ppl i sent a track to, thanks for the cheering on.
To tatyanna Johnson, the person who saved me from quitting singing, its all love Cassandra ;-)
To andrew Piland, The guy who got me backinto playing the guitar, we going to the top.
To Bug win...always letting me work wen i needed it n listening wen i needed it worse.
To my aunt Lawanda...she sent me this laptop, which is the greatest gift ever.

Something good shall come from this indeed..
Confession Wednesday is today for Darius Mines.
Its 1:00 PM, and my brother Orlando has gotten in trouble with my mother..
he was doing fine all this morning, we got two other foster kids here, i let em get rough and rowdy cuz thats what 7-8 year old boys do..long as they didnt break nothin or get in my way, they could do what the ham sandwich they wanted lol.
Soon as she walk in, he start acting a monkey, throwing stuff, KNOWING she was gon get in his tail. And she got him. Im watching the punishment as it is and he bucked.
She just smacked the crap outa him.
she scared the crap outa me when she did that.
Moms is pissed. im glad she going off on him, better him than me.
cuz im not as in control as he is.
But as i digress...
Im glad to be alive, Ive been babysittin the whole spring break, the 'rents said they are gonna pay me...they better cuz this mess is harder than working at the Y.
Babysitting foster kids is a monster..
on a musical note, My boy spoon done got back onto my D'angelo kick, the line is the greatest song. ive listened to the song 13 times today, it helped me not choke these lil brats we call boys.
Something good shall come from this, it has to, God is working on my heart and the way i feel about my brother..
I used to really dislike him, like never wanted to be around him, because im an only child by nature, and when he moved in and i started having to babysit and i couldnt record vox at 9:30 at night cuz he was sleep i had a nice Texas-sized problem.
Now its alot better, because im used to him, and my parents finally understand my side, plus i go on campus to the great Old Dominion University the third weekend in August.
Suffolk i shall leave you. I will miss you but I am moving on to bigger and better things.

First Time..and i talked to a legend..

this is my first time blogging, i always wanted to try it, i like the idea.
I had an epiphany last night, which went a little like this.
Creating music is all i really love to do, and this was just an extention of that.
There is more than one way to think about music, as far as production and songwriting are concerned.
I recently sent Rob Lewis, a very famous keyboardist and Musical Director for acts like babyface and New Kids on the Block, a message on youtube, just asking for some advice, after checking his vids he seemed pretty approachable.
I asked him who i should gravitate toward as far as musical influences, and i ran down a few of my favorites just to kinda give him an idea of what i am currently into.
He went down a different road in his response to me, telling me that those guys that i considered great all have their own style; they all have something that sets them apart. He was like "listen to the greats ie Quincy jones, motown etc. and use that to create your own sound."
Hearing that brings me back to the point i was trying to make.
Being a great musical artist/producer/writer/whatever has more than one side.
You can be the most individual and unique artist ie. Bilal, Bjork has its perks, but it doesn't gurantee success..While being sort of a copycat ie. B5, Guerilla Black, almost seems to give you a better chance. At the end of the day, being a musician is a JOB, it is a business, and making money is pretty important. So what does a young aspiring musician do???
I can create "industry standard" music, or be a carbon copy of what is out and popular and making money, but its not quite the same because i still try to make it music..
But.
I want to create my own sound, fusing the greats with my own personal ideas, but will it be accepted and gravitiated toward?
Just my thoughts.
